The Scania electric truck for kids

The Scania truck is the most striking vehicle in the range: officially licensed by Scania, four motors, twin 12V batteries and 119 cm long. Recommended for ages 3 to 7, up to 40 kg.

Why a truck rather than a car? Because a child who loves lorries doesn't want a sports car. The seating position is higher, the cab wider, and the grille, logos and details match the real Scania — that is what the licence means.

Equipment: 2.4GHz parental remote, forward and reverse, front and rear LED lights, leather seat, seatbelt and MP3/USB/Bluetooth system.

Electric scooters from age 6 and from age 7

Two scooters with 24V lithium batteries. The Simate S4 starts at 6, reaches 15 km/h and has three speed settings — the lowest can be locked in for the first outings. The U8 is aimed at ages 7 to 16, with suspension and up to 16 km/h.

The difference is less about speed than suspension: the U8 handles uneven paths, the Simate S4 is made for smooth surfaces.

The electric police car

A 12V car for ages 2 to 5 with parental remote. Not a licensed model, but the vehicle children ask for most at that age.

12V or 24V

Voltage decides less about top speed than about which ground the vehicle can handle. 12V is enough for a driveway, a patio and short grass. 24V becomes necessary when there are slopes, uneven ground, or a child over 30 kg. Explained in full in the 12V or 24V guide.

Where they can be used

All of these are meant for private areas — gardens, yards, driveways, parks where permitted — not public roads. That applies to the scooters too: an electric scooter for a minor is not a street vehicle. Details in the safety and approval guide.

How long does the battery last? About an hour of continuous use for the truck, roughly 8 km of range for the scooters. A full charge takes 8 to 12 hours.

Do two children fit in the Scania? No, it seats one. Two-seaters are in electric cars.

Does it need assembling? It arrives mostly built: steering wheel, mirrors and rear wheels, about twenty minutes.
